Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how ShopFlow collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application.
Information Collection and Use
We collect several types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our service to you:
- Personal Data: While using our app, you may provide us with certain personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, profile picture, and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token (used to deliver push notifications).
- Usage Data: We may collect information on how the app is accessed and used (e.g., shopping lists, currency preferences, and app settings).
- Device Data: Technical information about your mobile device, including the device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
Data Storage and Cloud Synchronization
ShopFlow prioritizes your privacy. Most of the data generated within the app (such as your shopping lists and budget settings) is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms. To allow you to collaborate with others (e.g., family members or groups) and access your data across devices, we use Google Firebase (Firestore). When you utilize cloud features or join a family/group, certain data (including your shopping lists, budget data, and settings) is transmitted to and stored on Firebase servers. We also generate a unique Family/Group ID linked to your profile and store your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to facilitate real-time updates and push notifications.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party service providers to facilitate our app, improve our service, and analyze usage:
- Google Firebase: Used for cloud data synchronization, user authentication, push notifications (FCM), and app analytics. Firebase may collect anonymized data about how you interact with the app to help us identify issues and improve functionality. - Google Play Services: For core Android functionality.
- Expo: For app infrastructure and over-the-air updates.
Advertising
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in our app to support its development and maintenance. To prioritize your privacy, we have configured our app to request only non-personalized ads. This means that the ads you see are not targeted based on your personal profile or past behavior. However, Google AdMob may still collect and use certain non-personally identifiable information (such as your IP address or mobile advertising ID) to facilitate ad delivery, measure performance, and prevent fraud. Push Notifications
If you choose to enable push notifications, we will use your FCM token to send alerts about updates to your shared shopping lists (e.g., when a new item is added by another family member). You can turn push notifications on or off at any time through your device's system settings.
Camera and Photo Library Access
Our app requests access to your device's Camera and Photo Library solely to allow you to upload and change your profile picture (avatar). We do not use your photos for any other purposes, nor do we share them with third parties.
Security
The security of your data is important to us. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, including the security standards provided by Firebase. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
Our app does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
